Take A Vet Fishing in Fox Lake, IL

“Ed Paprocki” Event

All participants must have a current Illinois fishing license. You are required to provide your own fishing license.

Guides: All boats on the Chain O' Lakes must display a Fox Waterway Agency sticker. A 1-Day Fox Chain Waterway Sticker will be provided by TAVF the day of the event to any Guide that does not have one for this specific event. Guides are responsible for providing their own bait. 

Boats can launch at the Legion at no charge. Other boat launches in the area may have a fee if you choose to launch elsewhere. Guides can launch anywhere on the lake that they wish but we ask that you transport your Veteran(s) with you.

Check-in: 6:30am for all Veterans and Guides. You must check-in with a TAVF team member.

Fishing Time: 7:30-11:30am

Socialize at the Legion: 11:45am is the time for family members to join (only open to those who registered through the website).

Color Guard, National Anthem and Prayer: 12:15pm

Lunch: 12:30pm

Honor Ceremony: 1pm

Raffles: 2pm

Conclusion: 2:30pm

A QC Code will also be available at the event to scan to upload all of the pictures you take throughout the day. We welcome content from the hotel, parking lot, launches, boats, honor ceremony, lunch, and raffles just to name a few. Get creative! These photos will be shared with all participants at the event and also used for sure promotional materials/social media. Thank you in advance for helping us capture these memories!

A hotel stay is available for all Veterans who are traveling over 60 miles to attend this event. This hotel stay will be for Saturday night (the night before the event only). Please keep in mind that you will need to check-out from the hotel prior to fishing on Sunday morning. Our event does not conclude until 2:30pm, by this time, the hotel would need your items completely out of the rooms. 

All hotel rooms must be requested no later than Sunday, April 14^th. If you do not request a room by this date, Take A Vet Fishing will not be able to cover the cost of your room.
